[:1]At least it wasn't associated with that awful Emo song...|||Number 23 (2007)
Rating: 8.5/10
Fun: 7/10
A woman buys a book for her husband, the husband reads into this strange self published eerie book. The book goes on about the life of a man, starting from his childhood when he aspired to be a detective. The man leads a twisted life, obsessing over the number 23 because of a similar obsession his father had, and eventually the book stops at chapter 22, right before the main character commits a murder. The husband begins to develop the same obsession and eventually discovers that the story was true, and that a killer was already in jail for the murder. His obsession eventually drives him insane.
Critics gave this movie a total of 8% on rottentomatoes, i do not understand this, maybe a low 40% or something but 8%? Either way, the directing is without a doubt amazing, if you dont enjoy the movie, the directing is definately unique. The movie is just so twisted it begins to freak you out a good bit, and the way it is filmed makes it even more disturbing. Jim Carrey does an AMAZING job, it seems that two big comedians ended up playing good insane roles (Robin Williams in 1 Hour Photo). The movie is extremely confusing at first, and doesnt really make complete sense until the very end, and throughout the movie you kind of realize the movie gets a bit far fetched at times. But in the end, its worth it, really bothers you, a cool "psychological mystery" movie.|||One Hour Photo was okay, but by the end I had run out of patience with it. It was so derivative, and it actually seemed conscious of this and therefore decided to just rush through important parts figuring that since we'd seen it all before we wouldn't mind... and the big finale was just silly.|||Quote:

Yeah ill agree with you, wasnt that bad of a movie but it wasnt good, Robin Williams' acting was amazing though. That movie creeped me out a little bit.|||Quote:
Seen the YTMNDs yet?
nope, it's 2007 now, put a fork in old websites|||Quote:

Agreed. That site lost its glory.|||Robin Williams' performance was pretty good.
I hadn't logged into YTMND for months, it has been pretty lousy for a while.|||23 just looks like an awful premise for a movie all around. I don't like movies where everything is connected by some kind of super villainous number or coincidence. The trailers make it look like an equally bad version of Murder By Numbers or the Ninth Gate. Yikes.|||Quote:

I've never seen or heard of the other two. Id suggest checking it out before saying it wasnt good.|||Oh Dondrei, how against the grain you go. How do the trailers make 300 look not good?
