Post and discuss your pets - Page 4

Both cats are pretty spoiled though to be honest. I always figured we'd just need a third cat to represent power and we'll have the full tri-force available

Another cat-mod |||haha, im not going to die if i am around a cat. we used to have cats at my mom's house, but they were outside cats (every now and then, me and my sibs liked to play pranks on each other and get the cat inside and put him on the bed or we would just bring him in for whatever, but it was never long. i remember we brought in a black cat we had. his name was Midnight and we brought him in to scare my mom. it worked! XD). i picked them up and pet them and such, but afterwards, i had to dust myself off and wash my hands. i don't get how my brother is able to put his face into them (like he'll cuddle his face into them or something) and not sneeze. i htink he may have washed afterwards, idk. but i do. sneezing and sniffling from animals is not something i enjoy, hehe.|||My sister has a cat and it is so grouchy I can never go near it without it hissing or going for me it even goes for my sister occasionally. Its not badley treat or anything in fact on one rare occasion it has sat on my knee but I dare not stroke it.It totally contrasts with the family cat we had when I was younger which used to like running up your back(ouch) and sitting on your shoulder and at night time it would sit on my chest purring. The rough collie we had use to get its face washed by the cat which it would nuzzle the cat for.The funny thing is I did more harm to that cat than my sister cat when I one day accidently slammed the door on its tail but it only hit it at the end about 2 inches from the tip so it looked like a walking stick after that.|||Quote:

That makes four of us then (you, Orphy, Thy and moi) - that's kinda freaky.

If I can manage to get a really good picture of The Lump on his beanbag throne, I'll share it - along with some assorted shots of the Kappa Alpha Tau (my outdoor cats).|||Fortunately I don't suffer any allergies or anything with animals (or at least now with the animals I have encountered during my lifetime), which makes things pretty easy for me I guess.

Xora's abit of a cat person too, is she not? Upon re-reading that, I think that might have been an understatement? |||Quote:

I thought you were more of a fishy kind of guy, like me.

I recently bought some new inhabitants to my aquarium, total population now is up to 14 (plus those annoying mini-snails).

I recently bought 5 crystal red shrimps, a Sewellia Lineolata (loach thingy) and a snail-eating snail (Anetome Helena) for cleaning purposes.

My previous four Swordtails still enjoy life, and also three swordtail spawns appeared out of nowhere last week. Funny, because considering their size it must have been the same spawns that I saw just 2-3 times a month ago, but since then didn't see for 3 weeks. I assumed they were eaten, but they must have been hiding very good, not showing up once in 3 weeks. Now they are all at the front of the aquarium, showing off more than their parents.

Sidenote: None of the pictures are from my aquarium, my camera is simply too bad to take good pictures through the glass. I really should borrow my girlfriends camera. |||Quote:

Pardon my ignorance, but is that a salt or fresh water aquarium? Those shrimps are kind of cute.|||He would be the best to answer since it is his aquarium, but all of those look to be freshwater to me. Swordtails I know are freshies and the rocks seen with the snails are definitely for freshwater.

Salt tanks are gorgeous, but expensive, to set up. When I get settled into a more permanent place of residence I'll set one up again.|||Quote:

Make sure you post a pic when you do . Aquatic creatures seem to have some stress reducing qualities to them for me.

Has anyone ever used one of those Littermaid boxes for cats?|||Quote:

How could I forget Xora! I suck.

Oh, I do! You've read my novel-length posts on the subject so you know I have a borderline obsession with fishkeeping.

But I tend to think of fish not as "pets" per se but rather as "ornaments" (albeit very delicate and living ones), as one doesn't really have any meaningful social interaction with fish - unlike a cat or dog.
