On the topic of class reunions

I just found out last night that we are having a 10 year class reunion in 1 week. Firstly I'm a bit annoyed that I didn't find out any sooner, and its not like I'm a hard guy to get a hold of...but whatever.

I have kept in contact with the people I care most about of course, but I'm sure that it would be fun to catch up with people I haven't seen in 10 years.

It's in my hometown, and I don't really have an excuse not to go, but I don't really feel that compelled to attend. It really seems like computers, FB, twitter, etc have really killed the importance of class reunions. People aren't as disconnected from each other as they used to be.

What do you guys think? Did you or will you go to yours? Are reunions becoming an outdated concept?|||I'm not yet old enough to be attending one, but when the time rolls around I won't be going. I keep in touch with everyone I was friends with/cared about in HS, and as you said with Facebook/Twitter and the like, it's not exactly difficult to connect with old friends.

As for people I didn't keep in touch with, well obviously I don't really care what they're up to.|||I'm not on FB nor Twitter so I suppose I'm old enough for class reunions. If there ever were any I'm certain I wouldn't be invited; I was severly bullied throughout all my schooldays. They'd not want to see me. I'd not want to see them. If I were to attend, I might stab some people in the eye with a fork.|||@Shaigon: Sounds like we're pretty much in the same boat.

@Vivi: Sorry to hear that, part of me would want to go back in spite of them being jerks, but I completely understand not wanting to revisit that part of your life. Plus, stabbing people in the eye isn't a real good idea, even if they really deserve it.|||You shouldn't take them for granted. Some of us will never have one.|||Yeah but you still got your hair, so you can show those bald men up.|||One of the friends I still keep up with was starting to bald in high-school. He's almost completely bald now, its pretty sad really.|||I didn't go to mine, pretty much becasue none of my former HS friends would have shown up anyways...and I didn't really like people then, and frankly... really don't like people now.

Tho I feel like I'm a nice guy |||Quote:

you know my friend Cheeto? i keed, i keed.... but he really is going bald and he's 25. our other friend had a headful hair back in high school. and he's pretty much bald now. quite shocking when i saw him last year.

im not old enough to go to mine, it's... about four years away? you're right about the facebook thing. people do keep in touch with that and i live with two schoolmates and keep up with several others thru email and such so... it's all good.

at the same time, i wanna go to see which pretty popular girl/guy turned not so pretty after school. yes, i am a shallow ***** like that.

not only that, but if i go, i think it will be the one time i resolve a certain situation with a guy i had a crush on back then. let's just say he deserves a nice punch to the face for what he did to me because he knew he could do it, but is going to jail for punching a Marine worth it? no, not for a sorry guy like him, but i plan on giving him a piece of my mind when that time comes, if i don't do it sooner.|||Quote:

See, now that's the kind of stuff I don't want to miss out on!

@cyberhawk: I don't think not liking people makes you a bad person, that's pretty normal!

I am still a bit torn on the issue, my wife didn't go to hers. Because they wanted 75$ a person for it mostly. Maybe if i can find out if some people I know pretty well will be there, then I will go.

I really hate awkward social situations, like where I don't have people to talk to, so that is a big concern for me.
