War in Libya - Page 2

You can go kill a dictator but another will just rise

Sure, another will come up. But The Empire will try to install their version. Just like they had (have) in Egypt, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Bahrain,Their brutal rulings are not reported in The Matrix. If some reports do come through, most people simply dont care, they are hypocrites who run their lives on military force steeling foreign oil.|||Quote:

As for Germany's constitution, you should rephrase it to allow participation in military campaigns with other countries (NATO/UN/such). I think Germany has learned its lesson, I don't fear a ww3 (at least not originating in Europe)

We already have it a bit like that. The NATO treaty says that an attack on a NATO member is to be regarded as an attack on all members and that would make it somehow legal. My common sense tells me that it's a kind of cheap trick, however, and I wonder which kind of justification the constitutional court brought up to tolerate it. Also, if it's not considered as a war, then it's fine as well (like sending soldiers to Afghanistan after the invasion), but that's just a different trick. I think if Germany wants to participate, they should change the constitution, but I guess it's more convenient to keep an excuse in the back hand for not participating in military campaigns.

Anyway, I have to agree with Bobcox that the nofly zone comes a bit late. It was pretty obvious that things would end up as they did, with Gaddafi's army and mercenaries regaining control, so if somebody wants to act, it has to happen earlier. However, the whole issue has a political element. the other Muslim states wanted to be asked first (they don't really want to act, however). If the NATO boldly sent their air force, we would have a major crisis in the middle East now.|||Quote:

WOO! HOO!

Nice to see you again it's been a few months, I was afraid THEY had tracked you down but was hoping things were just going well for U in RL vdzele.

Come on U of all people have to admit the only chance those people have is through rising up against the "MASTERS"

I expected you see you in these current middle-east threads a while back...

Whats up?

Spoiler

Kris & LorveN, Glad to see at least Both you Green Guys don't agree that U are safe to trust with more power

Kudo's to Kris here.

I do feel that your attitude is correct and if the UN really had the power (instead of being inefficient) the lateness would not matter as they would do the job right, but the fact is the American public has found being the police on your Own by Default while it looks good to start with, ends up being a job with little pay, and after a while everyone hates you.

So it becomes corrupt as a result|||I just think it's hilarious to see all the namby-pambies trying to excuse the Obamessiah for the same sort of thing they've railed against da Eebill B00s-hitler for over 8 years about.

I would love to know why supposedly three of the four subs launching the cruise missiles to take down the air defenses were American. The Arab League was demanding U.S. action, and now they're outraged that we took action. Gotta love it.|||http://listen.grooveshark.com/s/War/2BITgR?src=5

Your opinion is OK. It’s typical. You and many others like you, will laugh when oil prices go well over $150 per barell. That’s the main goal of your beloved politicians. To create chaos in that region so that oil brings down West as much as they can.

That will take care of your ignorant laugh.

@BobCox - Hi Bob|||Quote:

I'm surprised that vdzele didn't reply with the Conan quote.|||Quote:

I'd say that $150/barrel oil is perfectly capable of happening without the need for an evil conspiracy. Of course, that would mean that sometimes events just happen without the need for a secret group of overlords controlling events, and we can't have that, can we?|||Quote:

Then again, why shouldn't an evil Emperor Palpatine look-alike take advantage of current events? Give it a "nudge" in the "right" direction? Particularly if he's suffering intense megalomania in the first place?
