Casey Anthony Trial - Page 2

I only read about it on some forums where there are americans posting.

The way i get it, she was accused, the media realy blew it up, everybody thinks she is guilty even before the trial started, but luckily the gouvernement does judge based on prove and not on general believe. Now everybody is upset that they can not get bloody revenge.

edit : now that i have read the article, it looks fishy, i admit that. But if there is a lack of evidence, "in dubio pro reo" still holds.|||Stuff like this irritates me, probably why I don't watch the news.|||Quote:

What irritates me far more is the grotequerie of the media. This vile slut wouldn't be given more than 5 minutes local if she were black, or fat, or ugly. Hell, a foul suicide happened only a few weeks ago a couple of counties away from me, where a woman locked her kids in the back of her car and then drove into the river. The mother was black, and so it barely made it on TV.

But because Anthony's passably pretty, white, and likes to 'partay' the feckin' news cycle is fixated on her while the world burns.

I always despised the media, having had observed some of them when I was a child. But I think what really "did it" for me was when there was a double sexual abduction years ago, and the girls escaped. The cameraman used a tight shot on one of the teen's buttocks in ripped shorts. If our society has lost all morality, the media led the charge downhill.|||the way a lot of people here feel it's either:

She's guilty of murder. It's so obvious.

OR

Maybe not guilty of murder because you can't be sure, but she needed to be found guilty of something.

OR (and this is how i personally feel)

she lied and gave false information. iirc that's a no-no here and you can get in trouble for that. at least punish her for that. i was shocked to hear she was found not guilty of anything because i thought she would've gotten something.

and besides, there's nothing no one can do, even if we did find out how that little girl got murdered 20 years from now, she's protected by Double Jeopardy.

im waiting to hear news about a book to come out called: If I Killed My Daughter, This Is How I Would Have Done It.

edit: wow, Merv. that's f-ed up. but i kinda disagree with you on the pretty part. Andrea Yates. iirc, that woman wasn't attractive at all and look at the news storm with that one! but she was white... >.>|||Quote:

Plus the media angle was spurred with the drowning, and the number of children. There's been something like two quadruple homicides involving kids as I recall (vaguely) in the 12 years I've spent in NY, but since they're them neegrows or illegals almost nobody bats an eye. |||and i don't get it. why kids? it makes my stomach turn. |||Quote:

I agree. She gets all the attention because she's the stereotypical young white girl. There are obviously more extreme crimes being committed that receive little to no attention due to race. This was actually a fairly heated discussion on another forum I frequent.

Wasn't she charged with 4 counts of lying to investigators? Or were those dropped?|||Quote:

oh theres no doubt shes a criminal, admitting it was the core of her defense against murder, and she was found guilty on all those counts

from what I've read both the prosecution and defense presented sloppy nonsensical cases, but the onus of proof is on the prosecution and that broke the stalemate of incompetence|||Why I love npr.

Casey Anthony not guilty gets only 2 minutes of coverage.|||Quote:

She shouldn't have gotten any.
