Debt Ceiling Solutions - Page 20

Here's my take on the CBO's new projections:

I particularly like that, even after all of the unrealistic assumptions, we're still running a massive deficit. I guess they're the type of people who fail even in their dreams.|||Its not a failure. You see, debt is a good thing. As the revenue goes up, they have to spend the extra cash to keep the economy going or else the whole system will just collapse into another great depression. As long as there is massive debt, it means they are doing a good job. /sarcasm

Too bad there are so many people who buy into that nonsense.

Why only S&P lobbyists in particular? I don't think any lobbyists should be Washington, and I don't think they would be if the money and power weren't there.

Much as I hate to admit it, lobbyists do serve a purpose. The problem is that they are way too good at fulfilling that purpose.|||Quote:

Why are we still fighting a three trillion dollar war? Because its a significant drain on resources, fueling the fire for the "fundamental transformation of America".

Probably the same reason for our illegal war in Libya, as well.

You're spot on about the reason debt is considered a good thing. I've seen extensive new purchases recently, the only explanation for which is that the appearance of emptying the pool at one end and pouring it back into the other really IS thought of as the Gov't creating wealth.

Oh, and by the way, if you feel a need to suffer murderous rage for a few minutes, watch this. I literally need to be kept away from sharp objects every time I read/look at it. These foul people are actually SO ignorant that they think giving someone a check or assigning them in a pointless make-work duty will somehow generate wealth.|||I don't know, this might have you beat on the murderous rage inducement scale. Then again, I've already placed California on the unsalvageable list. When is that big earthquake supposed to hit again? The one that sends that cancerous insane asylum of a state sailing into the sunset? |||Quote:

Yup I saw that one previously - The Blaze is sometimes scooping Drudge when it comes to the truly insane Socialism levels we're approaching. But the reason the one I linked makes blood shoot out of my eyes is that Carney theoretically is Obama's mouthpiece, and he's essentially stating that unemployment "insurance" is the best way to increase employment.

Following said "logic", why not fire everyone and get the economy back on track?|||This is why, even though I disagree with Stewart on just about any topic, I still love the guy:
